On dry land again!
We finally arrived in Cartagena, which means we’re in South America proper, and found a hotel. It was SO nice with a real bathroom with freshwater after 7 days on the boat. Just wanted to let people know we’re not lost at sea. We’ll tell you more and post pictures later. Now… dinner and beer!!

Panama City
We finally made it to Panama City, the end of the road of sorts because from here we either get on a plane or a boat to Colombia. Central America has been great and I’m a bit sad to leave but South America awaits! Wandering the streets of Panama City we ran into this motorcycle [...]

More Photos
Where are we now? We could totally outrun this cop… but we didn’t have to because he was busy on the phone We found a totally empty beach on our way to Puerto Viejo… we rode our bikes right down to it… Andy had to ride on it and was rewarded with some good exercise [...]

Equipment Trouble
We’ve been riding on some pretty nasty stuff and the bikes shake quite a bit on their own being one-cylinder engines. Screws have been falling out of both bikes since we got them and we go over them once in a while to tighten them up. Still, we’ve lost some. About 2000 miles into our [...]

Photos!
We’re happy in the back of a pickup-truck that gave us a ride from the hot-springs in Gracias, Honduras. They saved us from a 90 minutes walk in pitch-dark wilderness after our taxi abandoned us. Riding through some new highway construction. We’ve done a lot of miles on this sort of stuff and I’m sure [...]

Honduras
We’re in Tegucigalpa, Honduras now. After crossing the border and seeing the wonderful ruins at Copán (where I took lots of photos that I can’t upload now hehe) we sort of followed a couple of Swedes we met at the border crossing, Ulrich and Olvar (if I mis-spelled their names i don’t care… they’re only [...]

Random Observations
We’ve done a lot of miles by now and I’ve found out that… Traffic lights and road markings are only suggestions… I’ve run more red lights, gone against more one-way streets and ignored more ‘rules of the road’ in two weeks than in my entire life so far. The crazy thing is that is works! [...]

Google Map
Torg has made a Google map for us, thanks Torg! http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=113455286385524778856.000446cf73facb6624db9&z=5 And as far as partying and riding goes we don’t party too hard when we’re riding the next day. In any case, Guatemala shuts down at 1 am so we’re in bed by 2.

San Cristóbal de las Casas
We left Puerto Escondido yesterday around noon because I was out partying the night before until about 4 in the morning. I wandered the streets of Puerto Escondido and found that most places were almost empty but one spot was pretty happening. After being looked up-and-down by the bouncer and given the OK by the [...]

Topas!
Thanks for the comments everyone, it’s nice to get words of encouragement, offers to send parts, etc. We’re in Puerto Escondido right now, we rolled in late last night and checked into this really nice hotel… Le Petit or something. We didn’t have the strength to look for the hotel Ken and Gary recommended, we were almost dead from partying in Acapulco the night before and riding for about 9 hours. The ride from Acapulco [...]
